Years of Experience
Ms. Dulka Mendis
Dear Lyceumers, It was way back in 1993 that our founder Dr Mohan Lal Grero along with our Coordinating Principal Dr. Kumari Grero embarked on a journey and laid the foundation for our school with seven students and four teachers. Lyceum International School Nugegoda, the very first school in the Lyceum Network has expanded over the years into a solid bedrock of learning and consists of a student body of nearly 5000 and a staff of over 600. As the Principal of Lyceum International School Nugegoda, I am indeed proud of the great progress we have made in the past 27 years. Our students have excelled not only in academics but in the field of sports at national and international levels. Each child is different and one should offer students academic challenges that are deep and relevant. With experienced and dedicated teachers and state of the art infrastructure, our school is a centre of excellence to educate the child’s whole being. The successful and progressive results not only in academics but also in co-curricular activities, re-affirm that we are striding in the right direction. Throughout our journey, Lyceum International School Nugegoda has proven to be a school at the forefront of education, imparting knowledge with a holistic approach, to the younger generation of our motherland, while keeping to our Sri Lankan cultural aspects and heritage as well. Our school consists of a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi- religious community where we recognize and nurture different faiths, customs and traditions. We also give prominence towards the development of soft skills and experiential learning which are vital aspects in education at present times. Having established units for learning support and special needs, we also recognize the value of our special children who are differently abled and take great pride in integrating them into our community. I am thankful to the extremely dedicated, loyal and creative staff we have, who direct and facilitate all activities recognizing the unique potential of each student. Our young and vibrant Alumni is spread around the world making their alma mater proud with their remarkable achievements in some of the most renowned universities in Sri Lanka and around the globe. I am indeed thankful to our Founder Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, Coordinating Principal Dr. Kumari Grero and our Chief Visionary officer Mr. Nikitha Grero for the constant guidance, support and encouragement given throughout, without which, we would not have achieved what we have and come this far. Along with a talented and dedicated team of over 600 staff members and an extremely supportive body of parents we strive towards our vision. It is my belief and hope that every student of our school will leave some day, not only as individuals equipped with knowledge, but also as honest, empathetic citizens equipped with social responsibility and moral values.
