It was a moment of pride for Lyceum International School Kurunegala as young Omidu Karunathilake won gold at the 2022 Muay Thai Championship held in Indonesia. The demanding sport requires thorough training and consistent practice to master, and one of our students winning gold at an international competition is a great feat.
Omidu was trained by coach Chamila Nishantha who is the secretary of the Muay Thai Association and the Sri Lankan representative for the International Muay Thai Organisation. His expertise in the fighting style helped young Omidu immensely and the coach’s strategies ensured the young fighter bagged the winning gold.
